This policy applies to all users of the Service, including students and mentors. By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not access or use the Service.

We collect information to provide and improve our Service. The types of information we collect are:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you register, you provide your name, email address, and password.

  • Profile Information: You may choose to add details to your profile, such as your school, education level, areas of expertise, and a biography.

  • User Content: We collect information you voluntarily upload or create, including essays, documents for review, and messages sent through the Service.

C. Information from Third-Party Services, Including Google

  • Google Account Integration: To help you seamlessly schedule and manage mentorship sessions, OnNetwork integrates with your Google Account. When you connect your account, you authorize us to access specific information via the Google API. Our use of this data is strictly limited to providing and improving this scheduling feature.

    • OAuth Scopes Requested: We request your consent for the following specific scopes:

      1. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.owned

      2. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/meetings.space.created

    • How We Use These Permissions: With your consent, this limited access allows our Service to perform the following actions on your behalf:

      • Create: Generate new events on your primary Google Calendar for your scheduled mentorship sessions.

      • See (Read): Read the specific session events our Service created to ensure information is accurate and to send you timely reminders.

      • Change (Update)/Delete: Remove the event from your calendar if a session is canceled.

      • Generate Meeting Links: Create unique and secure Google Meet video conferencing links for your sessions.

    • Data Minimization and Limited Use: We only access, use, and store the event ID, start and end times, and the generated Google Meet link for each session. We do not access, read, or store any other information from your calendar, such as event titles (other than those we create), other guests, locations, or event descriptions.

    • Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We will never use your calendar or meeting data for advertising purposes.

 

3. How We Use Your Information

 

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Manage the Service: To operate our platform, authenticate users, schedule mentorship sessions, and manage user accounts.

  • To Improve the Service: To analyze usage patterns, develop new features, and enhance the user experience.

  • To Communicate With You: To send transactional messages, security alerts, support responses, and updates about the Service.

  • To Ensure Safety and Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activity.

  • To Personalize Your Experience: To provide content and recommendations that are relevant to you.

  • Between Users: We share necessary information between a student and their mentor to facilitate a session, such as your first name and profile details.

  • With Service Providers: We work with third-party vendors for payment processing (e.g., Stripe), website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and identity verification. These providers only have access to the information necessary to perform their services for us.

  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of OnNetwork, our users, or the public.

  • In a Business Transfer: If OnNetwork is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

 

5. Data Security and Retention

 

We implement robust technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Data is transmitted over SSL-encrypted channels and stored on secure servers protected by firewalls.   • Revoking Google Consent: You can revoke OnNetwork’s access to your Google Account at any time through your Google Account security settings page. Upon revocation, our access to your data will be terminated, and we will delete all Google-sourced data stored on our systems, such as event IDs and timestamps.

  • Managing Communications: You can opt out of receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe link in the email. You will continue to receive essential transactional emails related to your account and sessions.

 

7. Children’s Privacy

 

The Service is not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it immediately.

 

8. Changes to This Policy

 

OnNetwork may send official notices to you by email, regular mail, or by posting notices (or links to them) directly on the OnNetwork website. OnNetwork reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to modify, suspend, or terminate the Services, or any portion thereof, at any time. This includes the right to restrict or remove your access, delete associated data or files, or discontinue specific features or functionality.

OnNetwork shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, termination, or resulting loss of data, content, or access.

We may also revise these Terms or our Privacy Policy at any time by posting the updated version on our website with a new “Effective Date.” Your continued use of OnNetwork following any such update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
