My name is Trevor Alu and I am a first generation Junior at UC Berkeley studying sociology, and plan to pursue a career as a Pediatrician. My top three favorite activities are hiking, petting dogs, and playing video games! My college admissions process was filled with twists and turns, as I started out at CSULB, changed career paths, went to community college, and eventually applied as a transfer in the UC system. Throughout that time, I have worked as an EMT, volunteered with community programs like KidWorks, and written many, many applications! I have lots of experience writing about healthcare, LGBTQ+ stories, and interdisciplinary studies!

As a non-traditional transfer student, I can help answer a wide variety of questions you may have! I am also currently a mentor in the Starting Point Mentorship Program, headed by the Cal Office of Admissions, so I have extra experience and knowledge about the transfer process and what Cal is looking for in prospective students.
Since transferring, I have navigated both the Cal housing application system and have successfully found cheap student housing off-campus. I can help you determine whether living on or off-campus is right for you, and help you find off-campus listings!
